The 2010 Dallas celebration of the Great American Meatout, sponsored by the Black Vegetarian Society of Texas, will be held Saturday, March 13 at the Center for Community Cooperation, 2900 Live Oak St. in Dallas.
At 1:00 PM, Crosby executive chef and owner, Jeanette Prasifka, will share her secrets for preparing two of her favorite vegan dishes: Not-Egg Salad and Spring Pea Soup.
The Great American Meatout is the world's largest and oldest annual grassroots diet education campaign. Meatout encourages people to pledge to "kick the meat habit (at least for a day) and explore a wholesome, nonviolent diet of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains."
